A Computer Engineer with a master’s in Information Technology. With a background in education, I’m a practical problem solver who delivers trustworthy solutions (high-quality, robust, and explainable). Experienced with AI in Healthcare, specifically 2D and 3D medical images (x-ray, CT scans and MRI) as well as EHR codes. I am a team worker who picks up domain/industry understanding quickly and who can have meaningful dialogues with business stakeholders.

As a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer with a focus on Healthcare, I bring extensive experience in designing and deploying ML models using AWS ML and AI services. With a strong foundation in mathematics, and programming, I have a proven track record of leveraging machine learning techniques to drive successful outcomes in healthcare settings.

My expertise includes:

  • Designing and implementing end-to-end machine learning pipelines, from data preprocessing to model deployment, using AWS ML services such as Amazon SageMaker, S3 and AWS Lambda.

    • Designing and implementing a machine learning pipeline to analyze health records (EHRs) and identify patients at risk of developing certain diseases, allowing healthcare providers to intervene early and provide preventive care.
  • Building and optimizing supervised and unsupervised models for classification, regression, clustering, and natural language processing (NLP)(LLMS) tasks, using frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, and PyTorch.

  • Building a predictive model to detect early signs of complications in patients with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease or design for clinical trials, which can help healthcare providers provide timely and targeted interventions.
  • Developing and deploying deep learning models for computer vision such as image and signal processing tasks, as well as time-series analysis.
  • Developing an image recognition system that can identify cancerous cells in medical images for example in 2D images x-rays or mamographs. 3D images like CT Scans, MRI to detect Alzheimer’s disease (AD) allowing for earlier and more accurate diagnoses.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams of data scientists, engineers, and clinicians to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions, and to ensure the ethical and responsible use of AI in healthcare.
